Man Arrested In Drive By Shooting |
 |
Frankfort, KY (Monday, April 11, 2011) The Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a Lawrenceburg man in a shooting at five people outside a Highwood Drive home in Franklin County after an argument over money.
David Stanfield, 55, drove to Donald Roberts’ home on the 300 block of Highwood Drive after 9 p.m. Friday, Sheriff Pat Melton said Monday.
Stanfield and Roberts had apparently fought earlier at Speedway on Louisville Road because one owed the other money, Melton said.
According to investigators and witnesses Stanfield fired two shots from a 9mm handgun as he drove past the home, five people were outside in the yard.
No one was injured, and the shots hit the side of the home.
“Anytime you fire a gun in the direction of anybody, that’s serious,” Melton said.
Deputies obtained warrants against Stanfield and charged him with five counts of wanton endangerment. He was picked up Sunday in Carroll County after a Kentucky State Trooper stopped him for a traffic violation on Interstate 71.
Stanfield had outstanding warrants from Anderson County as well.

Frankfort KY (Thursday, April 28, 2011)
It’s one of the largest drug busts in county history in terms of variety and quantity.
The arrest of Anthony Wilhoite and search of his 208 Bracken Court home Wednesday by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is significant, according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Larry Cleveland. “This guy had whatever you’d need to get you through the weekend,” Cleveland said. “... I’ve seen bales of marijuana at a time. I’ve never seen anything like this.”
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Wilhoite, 43, in the parking lot near Kroger in Brighton Park Shopping Center around 6 p.m. Wednesday, court documents show. A search of Wilhoite and his property yielded 1,321 30mg Percocet pills from Florida, three and a half ounces of cocaine, 10 ounces of marijuana, 80 packages of Suboxone – a substance used for opioid addiction, 100 Viagra and Cialis pills, 125 vials of human growth hormone and other steroids, seven shotguns and rifles, six pistols, two cell phones and $73,534 in cash, said Sheriff Pat Melton.
The drugs and weapons, two of which were confirmed as stolen, are estimated worth between $150,000 and $200,000, Melton said during a 4 p.m. press conference today. “Right now the investigation is still ongoing,” Melton said. “We’re still working, and this is an ongoing case – a big case for Frankfort and Franklin County.” Other suspects are being investigated in the case, Melton said, and Wilhoite’s arrest is the result of weeks of investigation.
Deputies also found a hollowed-out can of Arizona Tea used to conceal Percocets during the search, Melton said. It was on display at the press conference. “It’s a nice little holdout place to hide your pills when you come back from Florida,” Melton said, noting the case opened another link to the Florida painkiller pipeline. “... Those are Percocet 30s.”
Wilhoite cooperated with authorities during his arrest, Melton said. Wilhoite has been charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in Percocet pills, trafficking in a controlled substance third-degree, trafficking in marijuana (more than 8 ounces), receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail on a $122,000 bond.
