Franklin County Spring Clean Event: Household Hazardous Waste, Dumpster Day, and More!
Franklin County is hosting our annual Spring Clean Event in honor of Earth Month! Check out the following events to dispose of your waste:
Household Hazardous Waste Collection: 4/27 8-12 @ 309 Rouse Ave. (First 500 cars)
Accepted Items include: Poisons, herbicides, batteries, aerosol cans, propane/helium canisters, oil-based paint, solvents/gasoline/thinners, antifreeze, fluorescent tubes, fire extinguishers, adhesives, asbestos, corrosive acids/bases/cleaners, dioxins, fertilizers, organic peroxides, reactive solids, oxidizers, flammable solids, mercury, freon/acetylene, electronics (including TVs!)
We will NOT accept: water-based paints, motor/hydraulic oil, or medications.
Dumpster Day: 4/27 7:30-2:30
-Old Peaks Mill School
-Evergreen Road Fire Station
-Bald Knob Fire Station
-Owenton Road Fire Station
-Lakeview Park
Anyone found dumping outside these hours may be held liable for illegal dumping.
Landfill Disposal: Saturdays from 8-12 at Benson Valley Landfill
Voucher needed to dump at the landfill on Saturday. Sign up for free at https://franklincounty.ky.gov/trash-vouchers/
Yard Waste Wednesday: Wednesdays from 8-12 at Lakeview Park
Drop off your yard waste with the Franklin County Road Department team! Begins 4/24 and runs every Wednesday through 11/6 8 AM to 12 PM at Lakeview Park: 112 Park Ave (near the softball fields)
