Traffic pattern changes support upcoming one-way to two-way conversion of Ann and Mero Streets
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 24, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming change to the traffic pattern at the intersection of KY 420 (Mero Street) and KY 2261 (Ann Street) in Franklin County, where an all-way stop will be installed next week.
An all-way stop will be installed at the intersection of KY 420 (Mero Street) and KY 2261 (Ann Street) on Wednesday, Sept. 30, by 3 p.m. Intermittent lane closures will be possible between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to support the work. The new traffic pattern is being implemented to support an upcoming highway safety improvement project that will convert Ann Street from one-way to two-way traffic between Mero Street and Broadway Street as well as Mero Street between St. Clair Street and Ann Street
The two-way conversion of Ann Street is being coordinated with an upcoming resurfacing project extending along KY 420 from the intersection of W. Main Street and Ann Street north to the intersection of St. Clair Street and Clinton Street. The one-way to two-way conversion of Ann Street and asphalt resurfacing work are expected to take place in the coming weeks. Additional details regarding the upcoming one-way to two-way conversion and resurfacing project will be shared once the schedule is finalized.
As part of the all-way stop installation, new stop bars and stop signs will be added on KY 420 (Mero Street). Existing flashing yellow beacons will be changed to red, and signage will be replaced and added to reflect the new traffic pattern.
Motorists should adhere to the new traffic pattern, use caution and be prepared to stop at the intersection.
