Judge/Executive Huston Wells and Mayor Layne Wilkerson announce the appointment of Ray Kinney as the new Director of the Frankfort/Franklin County Office of Emergency Management. The vacancy became open upon the retirement of long-time Director Tommy Russell on October 31st.
“I want to thank Director Russell for his many years of dedicated service to our community,” Judge Wells said. “He has spent over 42 years working in the public safety arena. I have always had a great amount of confidence in his abilities and have always trusted him as a confidant and advisor during my tenure in office. He will be missed.”
Mr. Kinney retired from the Frankfort Police Department and has previously served as Franklin County Deputy Judge/Executive and most recently as the Deputy Director of Emergency Management. He was sworn into office yesterday by Judge Wells in the chambers of Frankfort City Hall.
“Mr. Kinney has a proven track record of leadership at both the city and county levels. He has the skills and ability to serve our county during any emergency or disaster that might arise in the future. I am grateful that he has agreed to serve in this new position,” Judge Wells commented.
