Last week the staff of Lakeview Park, under the leadership of Director Charlie Lewis, assisted with the delivery of pet supplies donated to the Franklin County Humane Society by Chewy.com. The County Parks Department volunteered to help provide a location to accept as well as temporarily store the delivery. Park staff Todd Mulder and Chris Cardwell along with Lewis spent several hours last Thursday unloading the shipment consisting of approximately 25 pallets of cat and dog food and supplies.
The Humane Society then held two giveaway events at the Farm Bureau Pavilion last weekend where the food and other items were distributed to the Franklin County community.
Judge Wells commented, “I am so glad that we were able to partner with the humane society to help provide this fabulous opportunity to our community. Director Charlie Lewis and his staff immediately stepped up to offer assistance to Kerry Lowery, Sam Marcus and the staff at the humane society. It is our goal to be strong community partner at all times. This project exemplifies that goal in action.”
