The Fiscal Court has unanimously approved the bids necessary to begin constructing a new road department facility. The new building will replace the current, aging garage that was originally constructed in 1958. Over the years, the current facility has fallen into disrepair. Replacing it with a state-of-the-art complex has been a top priority of the Fiscal Court.
The renderings below show how the new, finished road department will look when it is fully completed. The completed project is projected to cost the county just under 4 million dollars. The design of the campus was completed by OHM.
The new facility will be constructed on the same site as the current road department off Lewis Ferry Road. Therefore, our construction managers at Codell Construction will be managing the building process while simultaneously ensuring that the road department crew is able to function normally to serve our constituents.
Mobilization of construction is expected to occur within the next 2-3 weeks. We will post periodic updates to share the progress of this exciting project.
