This morning Judge Michael Mueller, Deputy Judge Jack Kennedy, and Squire Eric Whisman toured the new Franklin County Humane Society. The facility is located at 100 Companion Place off of Flynn Avenue on what is known locally as the “Carpenter Farm.” The building has separate areas for dogs and cats, an intake area, a public lobby, administrative offices, and a clinic. The tour was conducted by FCHS’s former President Sam Marcus.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 15, 2023. This event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a ribbon cutting, guest speakers, food vendors, and music. More information can be found at https://www.fchsanimals.org/.
Earlier in the week, the other magistrates toured the building in separate groups to avoid any conflicts with open meeting regulations.
