Earlier this morning, the embankment behind Crumbaugh Properties, near the Capitol Avenue Bridge, gave way causing a parking lot to collapse. A parked SUV slid down the bank stopping just short of the water. This afternoon, the vehicle was recovered with the help of a local towing company. Fortunately, no one has been injured by this incident. The Frankfort couple who owned the car and lived next to the site have already been relocated to new housing.
Judge Wells thanks Ray Kenny and Wes Willis of the Frankfort/Franklin County Office of Emergency Management for their professionalism in responding to this emergency. He also thanks first responders from the City of Frankfort Police and Public Works Departments as well as the Frankfort Plant Board for their efforts in managing this situation.
