Newly appointed Solid Waste Coordinator Ally Hall and Grants Administrator Tammy West toured the county animal composting facility earlier this week. The tour was led by Environmental Code Enforcement Officer Will Cunningham who is in charge of operations at the site. Judge/Executive Michael Mueller also joined the tour.
Franklin County was a pioneer in animal composting. We began operating this facility on January 25, 2016. At that time, it was only the 4th such complex in the state and the 2nd county-operated composting site. Over the past 7 years, it has saved the county thousands of dollars in landfill disposal fees.
