The Salvation Army Frankfort Ky. held its annual Red Kettle Kick-Off event for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Capitol Rotunda this morning. Judge Mueller joined Mayor Wilkerson as a guest speaker for the event. Additional remarks were also made by Greg Burton who is a Frankfort Advisory Board Member.
The Salvation Army brass band provided festive Christmas music. Major Thomas Louden, Divisional Commander for the Kentucky and Tennessee Division of the Southern Territory, gave a brief history of the Salvation Army Red Kettles. Governor and Beshear, alongside First Lady Brittany Beshear, issued a Proclamation naming November as Red Kettle Month.
