We’re designating April as Spring Sweep Month ! Take part in just one or all of our events to help clean up Franklin County throughout the month of April.
Judge Wells and the Solid Waste Department are running a contest – take a photo of yourself and/or your family picking up litter and send it in (to brittany.woodward@franklincounty.ky.gov) for your chance at a $100 giftcard to your favorite Frankfort restaurant! This promotion is open to all County and City residents.
The Landfill Voucher Program is operating every weekend for free dumping WITH a voucher. Use of this program will count towards your 4 vouchers per year. If you’ve used the voucher program at any point since 2019, you are already signed up and should have a voucher ID number. If you do not have a voucher ID number, you can sign up here: www.franklincounty.ky.gov/trash-vouchers.
We are running two coordinated litter pick up events – one April 13-15 where residents can check out equipment from our Solid Waste Department to clean up their area, and Main Street Clean Sweep on Earth Day 4/22 with help from Bluegrass Greensource and Commonwealth Credit Union from our office at 321 W Main St.
The Franklin County Conservation District will be holding their Scrap Metal Collection Event from April 22 to April 24 at their office at 103 Lakeview Ct. Hours are 8 AM to 430 PM on Thursday and Friday, and 8 AM to 12 PM on Saturday.
