Frankfort, KY – The Franklin County Fiscal Court invites all residents of Frankfort and Franklin County who were impacted by the April 2025 flooding event to attend a public Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Paul Sawyier Public Library, located at 319 Wapping Street in downtown Frankfort.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is open to all City of Frankfort and Franklin County residents. The primary focus of the meeting will be the NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Floodplain Buyout Program, a voluntary program that may provide an opportunity for property owners affected by the April 2025 flood to sell their property through federal funding assistance.
Franklin County will host representatives from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and ER Assist, Inc., who will present detailed information about the program, explain eligibility requirements, outline the process, and answer questions from the public.
“This meeting is an important opportunity for residents to learn more about their options and to speak directly with experts involved in the buyout process,” said Judge/Executive Michael Mueller. “We are committed to helping our community recover and make informed decisions following this year’s devastating flooding.”
