Temperatures across the region are currently dropping below freezing. The forecast low overnight and into the morning hours is predicted to be in the upper teens. Therefore, the POTENTIAL for flash freezing and black ice exists on wet sidewalks and roadways. We urge motorists to use caution overnight and during their morning commute. Franklin County Road Superintendent Jon Mitchell is currently monitoring the situation. The main roadways appear to be fairly dry at this time. However, due to the rain earlier today a slick spot or two is possible. Of course, our crews are standing by to treat any problem spots as necessary.
