Franklin County KY Solid Waste Coordinator, Ally Hall, visited two different Franklin County Schools classrooms last week to help local students learn about recycling. On Thursday, she visited Mrs. Webb’s Agriculture classes at Bondurant Middle School. Then on Friday, she visited Mrs. Vossmer’s 3rd grade classroom at Bridgeport Elementary.

All three of the classes learned about vermicomposting. This is the process of using worms to compost food waste. The students will be putting what they learned into practice by maintaining their vermicomposting bins in their classrooms. This is part of Hall’s ongoing efforts to help students learn how to put waste in its place.
